Who is Ethan Turner?
Ethan Turner (born June 6, 1995) is a distinguished African-American Perfumer trained at ISIPCA, and a Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. He graduated in 3.5 years from Drake University with both a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication and a second BA in Writing. During his time there he fostered an interest in the olfactive sense and began studying perfumery, wine, and the sense of smell at the age of 19. He enrolled in numerous courses on Luxuury and Fashion Brand Management at Università Bocconi in Milan, and self-trained in perfumery. At age 26, Ethan started his bespoke perfumery, MOI Fragrances, under the fashion label Maison Ethan Turner, with the goal of democratizing bespoke perfumery, telling stories, and creating art and technology. To date, he has developed over 250 unique bespoke formulas, is the nose behind celebrity Kevin James Thornton's fragrance Shamala Hamala, Senti Design's – Anuri A La Plage, as well as House of David's - Burnished Leather, and has been featured in publications such as Cuisine Noir, Perfumer&Flavorist, AskMen, among others. In 2022 He was nominated for Best Designer, and was awarded 2021 Perfumer of the Year from the Golden Pinapple Awards.
